REIA announce National Awards for Excellence finalists

Finalists in the 17th REIA National Awards for Excellence 2022 have been announced, with the best agencies, agents and property managers set to vie for the coveted awards.

Real Estate Institute of Australia President Hayden Groves said the new look REIA National Awards for Excellence 2022, or NAFE, celebrated the best of the best in Australian real estate.

“Drawn from the 2021 winners of state and territory real estate institutes awards for excellence, the REIA National Awards for Excellence are Australia’s only national, independently judged, and practitioner-led real estate awards across Australia,” Mr Groves said.

“Winners will not only be outstanding achievers, but also advance their teams and the communities they work in, underpinned by a strong pledge to our state and territory institute’s best practice agenda.

“A total of 107 entries were received, a significant increase on last year, who will compete for 21 awards in what will be a night to remember as borders across Australia reopen.”

Director at Harcourts Launceston, Jeremy Wilkinson has been nominated for Residential Salesperson of the Year and said the awards were something his team continually worked towards.

“It’s something that’s peer-reviewed, which really makes it a great achievement for me and the whole team and it’s something we strive for every year,” Mr Wilkinson said.

“I’ve been in real estate for 20 years and have been a finalist seven times, so I’m hoping it’s eighth time lucky.”

Mr Wilkinson said that the awards meant a lot this year after an incredible 12 months for real estate around the country.

“We all really had to step things up last year and who would have thought we all could when we were already in overdrive, but we did which is great,” he said.

The finalists are selected based on a range of factors, which is something Mr Wilkinson said agents value highly.

“There are some incredible performers in the list of finalists, but the great thing about the award is that it’s not just about your numbers it’s on a whole mix of things,” he said.

“It makes it achievable for others, because if it was just on numbers there are some bigger players who do large numbers because we don’t have the volume or extreme sales prices in Tasmania.

“The support of Harcourts has been tremendous as well because we simply couldn’t have done it without that.”

The REIA National Awards for Excellence 2022 include 21 categories across all aspects of the real estate: residential and commercial agencies, residential and commercial sales, property management, business brokers, buyer’s agents, community service, innovation and communications.

This year will also feature a new REIA President’s Award.

Mr Groves said the finalists were setting the standard for excellence across the country.

“Customers wanting to select a real estate agent for sale or to manage their property that can deliver them true excellence in both service and results should look no further than the list of NAFE 2022 finalists,” Mr Groves said.

Mr Groves said it was encouraging to see many more female participants in the 2022 NAFE with 45 female finalists – a 60 per cent increase on last year.

“We encourage all in the industry to make the trip to Melbourne and enjoy a great night of national networking hosted by the wonderful team at the Real Estate Institute of Victoria,” Mr Groves said.

The REIA National Awards for Excellence will be held at the iconic Zinc, at Federation Square, in Melbourne on 7 April, 2022.
