Reese Witherspoon sells her Malibu ranch for US$6.7m

Actress Reese Witherspoon has offloaded her second Los Angeles property in the past six months, selling a Malibu ranch in an off-market AUD$9.2m deal.

It comes after Witherspoon and her husband/former agent Jim Toth sold their Pacific Palisades estate in April for a cool AUD$23.4m.

The fully-operational ranch is set on two acres, with fruit orchards, stables, a riding track, and equestrian facilities.

It was built in 1949 as “a humble mid-century ranch, but was modernised and renovated by a design-savvy couple who operated the property as a wedding venue before selling it to Witherspoon”.

The previous owners of the property ran a still-operational website that showcases the picturesque property and the “design-savvy” couple’s modifications.

“Zuma Farms is a charming, private gated, hobby farm estate,” the site reads, “featuring a modernised 1949 farmhouse with French cottage, mid-century modern, eclectic and industrial architecture and furnishings”.

“Zuma Farms gives you an earful of the pounding waves and is walking distance to the world famous Zuma Beach in Malibu, California.

“There are state of the art horse stables, a high-tech German-imported footing in the competition spec dressage riding arena, the seasonal Zuma Creek, the main farmhouse, barn/guesthouse, screening room, film studio, romantic outdoor dining, amazing outdoor living and entertainment areas.”
