REA Group is opening its red doors this September, offering customers an opportunity to immerse  themselves in its flagship innovation event, Hackdays.

For more than a decade, REA’s Hackday events have sparked breakthrough innovation, enabling  teams to experiment, prototype and ship ideas that change the way the world experiences  property.

Customers from across the country are invited to submit an innovation-focused idea or business  problem for the chance to have it selected as a dedicated Hackdays project.

Customers will work  alongside expert REA innovators and technical specialists during the four-day sprint event as  they turn bold ideas into prototypes and working solutions in a matter of days.

Executive Manager – Sales, Gerard Connell, said REA is built on innovation and partnering closely  with customers. He said the opportunity to open the Hackday concept to customers is incredibly  exciting.

“Hackdays offer dedicated space to innovate, stress-test ideas and solve problems, and the  concept is core to the workplace culture at many digital businesses.

“Past REA hackday projects  have helped lay the foundations for features and experiences that our customers and consumers  now use every day. Our self-service customer platform, Ignite, was first created at an REA Hackday and it’s now used by almost 50,000 real estate professionals across the country,” Gerard said.

“This year, we’re excited to take it a step further extending the invitation to customers to help  co‑design and co‑build solutions with us. Reimagine it is a core REA value, and Hackdays offer a  great opportunity to partner with our customers to change the way the world experiences property together.

“Our customers are on the ground every day, and they know better than anyone where  technology, particularly AI, can be used to remove friction, improve client experience and unlock  new opportunities for their business.

“The combination of our expert teams, our data, our AI and innovation capability and firsthand customer experience will offer a rare opportunity to fast-track practical, high impact solutions that  can deliver results for the whole industry.”

The Hackdays customer initiative is part of REA’s broader Advantage AI program, including the  recently launched Advantage AI hub on the realestate.com.au Customer Marketing Centre.

Advantage AI brings together on‑demand content, practical guides and tools to help customers  cut through AI noise and focus on real‑world applications that support their teams and clients, right  now.

The event is open to Residential, Commercial, New Homes and Media customers.

Customers can register their interest now and more information will be shared in the coming months.
