RE/MAX Property Group journey begins

Itโ€™s been one heck of ride for Jesse van Nek into business ownership, but heโ€™s grabbing the bull by the horns, determined to make his mark with the establishment of RE/MAX Property Group in Gympie, Queensland, this week.

Alongside his fiancรฉe and business partner, Teesh Ottesen, the duoโ€™s goal of opening their own real estate business was spurred on by the desire to give their young family the rural upbringing, encompassed in community, they both enjoyed.

Ms Ottesen was born and raised in the Cooran community, where her parents and grandparents still reside today.

The couple have a strong connection to the Pomona/Cooran Cutters football club, where their family has played a vital role in helping the club thrive for more than 30 years.

RE/MAX Property Groupโ€™s mission is to provide a people-first, service-based agency that forms an integral part of the greater Gympie community

โ€œWe acknowledge, understand and respect that there are already exceptional service agents and agencies in the region and we eagerly look forward to collaborating with them to assist in the regionโ€™s growth, as well as the transformative property journey that people naturally embark upon to enhance their quality of life,โ€ Mr van Nek said.

A country boy born and raised in central Queensland, Mr van Nek made a global name for himself as a professional bull rider prior to his successful career in real estate.

He explains what he sees as definite parallels between his previous and current profession.

โ€œI live by the phrase, โ€˜You don’t have to be somebody to be something in this worldโ€™, and I really feel thatโ€™s an important way to look at life,โ€ he said.

โ€œAfter retiring from my previous career, real estate became something that I developed a strong passion for and business ownership felt like the natural progression.

โ€œThereโ€™s a very strong sense of achievement when it comes to helping property owners sell their property and, regardless of the type of property, all owners deserve the same service and dedication.

โ€œWeโ€™re looking forward to being able to offer an exceptional level of service, experience and dedication to our clients and businesses under the RE/MAX banner.โ€

Mr van Nek and Ms Ottesen’s desire to offer their young family a regional upbringing like their own saw their family settle just outside Gympie.

Drawing on more than eight years of experience as a sales consultant selling a diverse range of properties, Mr van Nek is set to drive the sales division, with plans to expand his team to capture the growing opportunity of a market he feels is poised for continued growth.

Coinciding with the opening of the Gympie office, RE/MAX Property Groupโ€™s property management division will be in full operation at the beginning of 2024.

The pair bring a well-rounded, yet revived leadership approach, with RE/MAX Property Group eager to develop genuine, collaborative relationships with the community and businesses throughout the region.

RE/MAX Australiaโ€™s Managing Director Joel Davoren congratulated Mr van Nek and Ms Ottesen on the launch of RE/MAX Property Group.

โ€œWith such great enthusiasm and passion for their community backing sound experience, weโ€™re delighted to have Jesse and Teesh join our network,โ€ he said.

โ€œThe opening of RE/MAX Property Group is exciting for the Gympie region.โ€
