RE/MAX appoints Ben Jacobs as new business growth manager

RE/MAX Australia has appointed Ben Jacobs as its business growth manager, with the role to be based in Sydney.

RE/MAX Managing Director Joel Davoren described Mr Jacobs as a standout candidate and said he was excited to welcome him onboard.

“Ben has a residential real estate background in sales, as an auction-focused agent, and, very importantly, as a successful business owner in the industry,” Mr Davoren said.

“In addition, he is experienced in areas of business coaching and mentoring, management services and business development.”

Mr Jacobs will return to Sydney to take up the corporate role with RE/MAX Australia following a successful stint at a Brisbane-based real estate business.

Mr Davoren said when establishing Ben Jacobs Real Estate in 2015, Mr Jacobs demonstrated the initiative that is synonymous with RE/MAX’s culture.

Mr Jacob’s said establishing his own business was rewarding.

“I had my challenges, but I faced them and my business prospered. I found being a business owner was very fulfilling,” he said.

“Following a very profitable 2018, I was thinking about Sydney and looking for an opportunity to place myself in the market there.

“I wanted to find the best way to make the most of two skill sets from two different industries. I was asking myself, ‘What would be my best fit in Sydney?'”

He said having been an independent with his Ben Jacobs Real Estate brand, he realised the critical edge that could be gained through a big brand.

Mr Jacobs had fielded several job offers while in Brisbane and had been approached by competitor networks about various roles. But he said he chose RE/MAX – and a move to Sydney – “for a few reasons”.

“The opportunity for RE/MAX growth in Sydney, and throughout New South Wales, is exponential,” he said.

“I was really keen to make a professional and lifestyle choice to be in Sydney. I already have a good client list through BJRE including many top shelf clients with Sydney links, which provides a foundation and leverage into the Sydney market.

“The business growth manager role builds on the strengths of my experiences.”

RE/MAX Australia’s corporate headquarters is in Brisbane. Its four business growth managers are currently based in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia.
