The Professionals network is expanding into the waterside haven of Oak Flats in the NSW South Coast’s southern Illawarra region, with a new office headed by experienced local agent Phil Muller.
Mr Muller has more than 30 years’ industry experience, having had his own office at Culburra Beach for more than 20 years and more recently running the sales department at a local agency in the Illawarra region, and now he is planning a business comeback with Professionals Shell Coast.
The office, at 60A Central Avenue in Oak Flats, is set to employ a small but experienced team to service the residential and commercial market of the Shell Harbour suburb which is located along the shores of Lake Illawarra.
Mr Muller said he was looking to build a strong team to service the Oak Flats area in the way he has always done – “by keeping days on the market to a minimum and getting the best price for our vendors”.
“Like the rest of regional NSW and especially the coastal areas, we’re getting our fair share of people looking to relocate here,” he said.
“Oak Flats’ properties are still quite affordable for the Illawarra, which certainly makes them attractive for people looking to downsize.”
Mr Muller said the market, which features many waterfront residences, is tightly held, making it ideal for auction campaigns.
“Taking properties to auction is the best approach when supply is tight, and that’s part of our strategy going forward to ensure our vendors secure a premium for their property.”
He said Professionals group, which operates as which operates as a membership based network rather than a franchise, allows him to take an independent approach to his new business.
“There’s no pressure for sales other than the pressure we place on ourselves to ensure we do our best for vendors.”
Oak Flats has plenty of appeal for buyers, with beautiful wide streets, generally large blocks and easy access to stunning Lake Illawarra. There are ample local schools and transport, and a comprehensive local shopping precinct.
“It’s pretty special for a coastal area, making it a market with lots of appeal for families.”
Professionals Shell Coast also has a property management arm, specialising in residential, commercial and industrial property, and is looking forward to building the portfolio.
