LJ Hooker goes for Gold with digital video series focused on Coast

LJ Hooker Solutions Gold Coast is putting the region’s property market on the national stage, with a new digital series hosted by television personality Melanie Symons set to launch this month.

The online series is called LJ Hooker Solutions GC TV, and will screen on the group’s social media platforms, YouTube and LJ Hooker websites.

In addition to featuring tips for buying and selling, the series will also include anecdotes from people on their real estate journey, as well as ‘Home Hacks’ – a series of renovating and styling tips to improve properties.

Ms Symons is a Gold Coast local and has been a fixture on the small screen for more than decades, with credits including Totally Wild, Saturday Disney, as well as presenting roles on lifestyle programs such as Ground Force and Australia’s Best Backyards.

Ms Symons said she was excited by the prospect of hosting the series, which she said would allow her to tap into two of her passions – real estate and the Gold Coast.

“For more than 25 years I’ve been presenting lifestyle shows but it’s the first time I’ve been asked to really dive deep into what I love, which is real estate and the communities in which we live, work and play,” she said.

“I’ll be sharing tips for buying and selling, interviewing experts on the state of the market and people on their real estate journey and, for a series titled ‘My Neighbourhood’, local personalities and business owners, to unearth the hidden gems of the Gold Coast and the untold stories behind them.”

The LJ Hooker Solutions Gold Coast brand was launched in January 2021 and comprises offices at Nerang, Pacific Pines, Helensvale, Hope Island, Coomera, and Ormeau, which were brought together under the one banner to bolster their market presence.

LJ Hooker Solutions Gold Coast Director Shane Colquhoun said the idea for the series came about because the team wanted to stand out by offering something different to stereotypical, styled real-estate videos.

“We wanted a way to deliver valuable advice on all things real estate and to connect with the communities that make up the Gold Coast,” Mr Colquhoun said.

“From there, the idea quickly evolved to an online series where we could deliver our content to social platforms which is where our consumers spend hours researching their real estate journey.”

He said the team was honoured to engage the services of Ms Symons to present the series and become a brand ambassador

“Like us, Mel has a passion for real estate and the Gold Coast. She was the first choice for the role and a perfect fit culturally for our network and clients.

“The Gold Coast market is surging and we’re seeing record inquiry from people in Sydney and Melbourne who have decided now is the time to make a lifestyle change.

“The series is a way of showing them, and the local community, what the Gold Coast is made of and guide them through the real estate process.”
