Kristen Wiig buys charming Pasadena Georgian home

Having recently sold her Pasadena property, actress Kristen Wiig has decided to purchase a new Georgian home just a few blocks down the street.

According to The Dirt, Wiig paid US$4.9 million for her new picturesque abode, which is surrounded by other stars including Meryl Streep, Grimes and Oscar De La Hoya.

The two-storey red brick structure was originally built in 1930 and features black-shuttered widows and a bright green front door.

Inside, three bedrooms and four bathrooms are spread across nearly 371sq m of open-plan living space with hardwood floors throughout, designer light fixtures, and steel-framed windows and doors.

Thereโ€™s plenty of natural light courtesy of an automated skylight, and French doors that open out to an alfresco patio ideal for dining and entertaining.

The home also includes a formal living room with a tiled fireplace and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, as well as a formal dining room.

The previous owners gave the home a contemporary overhaul with the help of architect Kevin Oreck and interior designer Deborah Rhein.

The gourmet kitchen has been updated with a pricey La Cornue range topped by a custom hood, Sub-Zero refrigerator, an eat-in marble island bench and a sunny breakfast nook.

The upstairs master suite sits under a vaulted wood ceiling, and displays a duo of windowed seating alcoves, fireplace, balcony, and vintage-style bath equipped with a clawfoot soaking tub and separate shower.

Wiig sold her former Pasadena home to fellow actress Lily Collins for US$3.9 million.
