Kay & Burton bolsters leadership ranks with three senior appointments

Kay & Burton is celebrating the start of the spring selling season with a suite of new senior appointments.

Mornington Peninsula-based Tom Barr Smith has been appointed executive director – group board member, while Stonnington-based Nicole Gleeson and Andrew Sahhar have been elevated to directors.

Kay & Burton Executive Chairman Scott Tanner said the three appointments were testament to the hard work, dedication and leadership qualities each of the members display.

“Tom, Nicole and Andrew are all highly respected within Kay & Burton, the real estate industry more broadly and, of course, within their markets,” Mr Tanner said.

“Kay & Burton holds a strong position within our core markets and we are now in a position to grow – this next generation of leaders is paramount to that growth.

“These appointments will not only see three outstanding agents flourish within their leadership roles, but it will create more professional development and personal growth opportunities across the company.

“It’s an exciting time for Kay & Burton, and this forms part of our wider strategy as we bring the company into a new era of real estate.”

Mr Barr Smith has almost two decades of experience and has achieved some of the highest sales on record for the Mornington Peninsula.

The Mornington Peninsula is a significant growth market for Kay & Burton and Mr Barr Smith’s appointment to the group board ensures the needs of Peninsula clients and team members are directly represented.

“I have watched the company evolve extensively over the years and I’m thrilled to be stepping into my new role as we focus on maintaining our growth, ensuring we continue to deliver the level of service Kay & Burton has become known for, and further strengthening us as market leaders,” Mr Barr Smith said.

Ms Gleeson and Mr Sahhar have enjoyed a strikingly similar trajectory since joining Kay & Burton.

Offered partnership in 2019, awarded for being among the top sales performers last financial year, and now recognition for their outstanding contribution to Kay & Burton with director status in 2022.

Ms Gleeson expressed her gratitude following the announcement.

“To be able to join the strong leadership cohort at Kay & Burton as a female director and share in the same values and vision is very special,” she said.

“And to be trusted with the development of the business and the agents within it is a privilege.”

Mr Sahhar said he was excited to step into the directorship in what is a pivotal time for the company, which has a transformative 12 months ahead.

“Kay & Burton is in a terrific position of growth with so many exciting developments to come within the next year,” he said.

“We are excited to be investing in our business and our people, and it’s great to be recognised as a leader and be able to pass on my knowledge and experience to help achieve the goals we have outlined.”
