Moneyball star Jonah Hill is growing his portfolio of Malibu homes, shelling out US$15.5 million for a beachside estate with picturesque ocean views.
According to The Dirt, Hill’s recent acquisition was originally listed for US$16.9 million in November 2021 before ultimately going to the actor at a large discount.
The three-storey stucco and wood-shingled structure was previously owned by Canadian filmmaker Paul Almond and his wife Joan.
Built in the 1930s and updated over the years, the traditional-style house has four bedrooms and four bathrooms in 288sq m of sun-filled living space.
The property is separated from the street by a two-car garage, a brick driveway and gated entry and sits on a compact 0.16-acre parcel of land.
Inside thereโs a fireside living room with a vaulted exposed beam ceiling and wide arched doorways leading to a formal dining room and family room.ย
Thereโs also a galley-style kitchen with green-hued cabinetry and newer stainless appliances.
A curving staircase links the various floors together, while the master suite comes complete with an ocean-view balcony, walk-in closet, and bathroom sporting dual vanities and a tiled rainfall shower.
To add to the appeal is a den warmed by a wood stove and an office space, while outdoors there’s a spacious brick patio with a covered al fresco dining area featuring a wood deck with steps leading directly to the sand.
A little over a year ago, Hill purchased a contemporary home on the ‘land side’ of Malibu Colony for US$9 million as well as a loft in New York Cityโs Manhattan neighbourhood thatโs in escrow to be sold for just under US$11 million.
