Barry Plant Eastern Group is looking to set a new standard, with the opening of its Whitehorse Super Office in Mitcham.
Positioned in the heart of Whitehorse Road, the 800sq m, light-filled office has first class amenities designed to enhance staff engagement, productivity, and relations between agents and clients.
The office can accommodate 100-plus team members and draws inspiration from luxury hotels in San Francisco, and was designed by Icon Interiors and Zone Design.
When planning the office, managing director, Spiro Drossos, had one mission in mind, and that was to create an intimate space that allowed people to easily integrate like a community in small groups.ย
โI wanted the office to be inspiring, but also feel almost like a relaxed entertaining space or living room where people can either have fun or opt for some privacy, listen to music, hang out with their coworkers, be productive and enjoy their working environment,โ Mr Drossos said.
โI always look forward to going to the office to work, but I take great pride watching other people become successful and enjoy their job and the environment they work in.
โFrom a client perspective, I wanted to create something where they are greeted in a very hospitable way, in an environment which is warm and welcoming, and filled with excellent biscotti.โ
With a desire to facilitate engagement, innovation and interaction between all teams, no expense has been spared when it comes to the interiors of the Whitehorse space, which cleverly introduces the use of arches throughout, elevating the space with very minimal effort, whilst offering a blend of history, artistry, and functionality.
A neutral colour palette with gold accents, natural parquetry flooring and wood panelling create an ambience of warmth and subtlety, while luxurious furniture, curated artwork and feature pendant lighting seamlessly combine modern elegance with old-world charm.
A full breakfast bar, equipped with a state-of-the-art coffee machine and deluxe kitchen, acts as a gathering place at the centre of the office, while the sleek meeting rooms and padded soundproof booths dotted throughout the office provide privacy.
Thoughtfully placed plants lend a touch of greenery throughout the open space, allowing staff to enjoy a working environment that is not only technically state-of-the art, but curated with their physical and mental health in mind.
Other features include a 25-seat boardroom and 150-set training room, with state-of-the-art facilities to be used for training sessions, client information sessions, auctions, and functions, while an array of technology throughout the space allows for people to come together and collaborate like never before, leading to a sense of unity, belonging and the building of a large family culture.
Director of Property Management, Brendan Di Rago, said staff and clients loved the new office.
โThe energy you get when you walk through the front door is very inspiring, and seeing people gathering in all the different spaces throughout is making a huge positive impact on the way we collaborate and motivate each other as a team – or family as we like to be known,” Mr Di Rago said.
“It sets the new gold standard of working in this industry, that is for certain.”
