A Hollywood Hills property once owned by actress Estelle Getty has hit the market for US$7.65 million (approximately AUD$11.9 million).

Ms Getty, who won an Emmy for her portrayal of the sharp-tongued Sophia Petrillo on The Golden Girls from 1985 to 1992, owned the property during her time on the beloved sitcom. She passed away in 2008.
The NYPost reports the property was built in 1948; the gated residence spans close to half an acre and retains much of its mid-century character while offering modern comforts.
