Situated in the ultra-private Enclave at Century Woods, a community once home to Don Rickles, Jane Fonda and other screen legends, the three-storey residence blends luxury living with sentimental Hollywood lore.
The Newharts purchased the newly constructed townhouse in 2016 for $6.675 million USD (approx. $10 million AUD), choosing it as a downsized yet sophisticated option after leaving their long-time Bel-Air home.

The motivation behind the move? According to WSJ: friendship. “They decided they were going to move down the street from their best friends,” said daughter Courtney Newhart Albertini, referring to Don and Barbara Rickles.
A House Built for Companionship and Christmas Carols
The property features four bedrooms and a dedicated top-floor office offering sweeping views of West L.A.
The primary suite features dual bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes—what Ginnie called the key to their 60-year marriage.

Family holidays became a staple in the home, with the open-plan kitchen perfect for entertaining.
“Mom always got a piano player and we sang Christmas carols—and Hanukkah carols for the Rickleses,” daughter Jennifer Newhart told WSJ.
“Dad would read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ in a crazy voice and crack everyone up.”
The community itself offered warmth and connection. During the pandemic, neighbours would gather at the cul-de-sac’s fountain with cocktails in hand. “They called themselves the Ponders,” said Courtney.
A star-studded enclave with limited inventory
The guard-gated Century Woods development is known for its tight inventory and illustrious residents.

Following Ginnie’s death in 2023 and Bob’s in 2024, their children are now selling the home. Bob Newhart, beloved for his role as Dr Robert Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show, also appeared in Elf (2003) and First Family (1980), among many others.
Drew Fenton and Max Lavine of Carolwood Estates are managing the listing.
