5 times celebrities sold homes to each other

In recent years, Hollywood celebrities have been busy buying and selling real estate and itโ€™s becoming more common to see A-listers selling homes to each other.

According to Architectural Digest, some of the biggest names in the industry including Selena Gomez, French Montana, Adam Levine and Ellen DeGeneres, Leonardo DiCaprio and Oprah have been busy flipping homes to each other.

Here are some of the most high-profile real estate sales in recent years.

Selena Gomez to French Montana

In 2015, Selena Gomez decided to offload her Mediterranean-style mansion and just a few months later it was scooped up by rapper French Montana home for US$3.3 million.

The musician made a few changes to the property, including adding a US$400,000 recording studio and giving the home a fresh coat of paint.

The rapper recently sold the property for $5 million and made a tidy profit on the deal.

Adam Levine to Ellen DeGeneres

Singer Adam Levine sold a five-bedroom, Tudor-style home in Beverly Hills to another A-list buyer in talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

DeGeneres paid US$45 million in 2019 for the property that was also previously owned by tennis great Pete Sampras.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson to Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio is known to love real estate, so itโ€™s no surprise to discover that he was the buyer when Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson sold his Los Feliz home.

DiCaprio bought the 1928 Spanish Colonialโ€“style property for US$7.1 million in May 2021. Which was substantially more than the US$4.6 million Tyler Ferguson paid in 2013.

Several other famous names also owned the four-bedroom home, including Gwen Stefani and Robert Pattinson.

Jeff Bridges to Oprah Winfrey

When talk show host Oprah Winfrey wanted to expand her already substantial property portfolio, she was the willing buyer of Jeff Bridgesโ€™s nearby Spanish Revivalโ€“style compound.

Winfrey paid US$6.85 million for the complex that spans four acres.

Liam Payne to Halsey

In 2021, Halsey set about getting things ready for the July birth of their first child, Ender Ridley Aydin, with the purchase of a sprawling five-acre compound in Calabasas. 

Singer Halsey paid former One Direction member Liam Payne just over US$10.16 million for a sprawling five-acre compound in Calabasas.

The property boasts a huge main house, a recording studio, a teahouse, a guesthouse, a small working vineyard, Koi ponds and waterfalls.
