Toadie looking for a new neighbour after listing Mornington Peninsula acreage

Neighbours icon Ryan Moloney, who plays Jarrod ‘Toadfish’ Rebecchi on the long-running TV series, has listed his Mornington Peninsula acreage with a price guide of $7.5 million to $8 million.

The ‘virtually off-grid’ property sits on 10.7 acres and contains a four-bedroom house that is set up to be self-sufficient with a 13kw solar array, 33.6kwh battery system and 280,000 litres of water tank storage.

Located just an hour from Melbourne and close to the beach, 10 Merricks Beach Rd, Merricks, is the perfect weekend getaway or ideally suited to someone wanting to make a sea-change.

According to realestate.com.au, the actor and his wife purchased the property in 2015 and have used it to operate a beekeeping and honey business, Beach Box Honey.

The listing notes that the home features a decadent master suite with a dressing room, huge picture windows to survey the property and an ensuite with pod bath and walk-in shower.

There’s also an adjoining study with built-in desk to work from home, while the floor plan features a stunning main living area with clerestory windows with remote controlled blinds, polished concrete floors with hydronic heating, a stone fireplace and a kitchen featuring stone benchtops, top quality V-ZUG Swiss appliances, a butler’s pantry and two dishwashers.

Outside there is a pool, fully irrigated gardens, trees and vegetable patch, while a three-on-three basketball court will provide hours of fun.

The fire pit area, with its built-in seating, is great for summer evenings and equestrian enthusiasts are catered for with a 60mx20m riding arena, post and rail paddocks with oversized horse shelters, a barn and stables.

New owners would also have the chance to seek a permit to ride on the beach in the morning, join the nearby Merricks Pony Club or canter all the way to Red Hill along the riding trail.

Moloney has starred as Toadie in the beloved soap opera since 1995. Initially portrayed as a troubled teenager, Toadie went on to qualify as a lawyer.
