Four years after establishing their real estate business in nearby Ashmore, Darren and Sandy Davey are excited to be opening the doors of their Ray White business in Labrador.
The Daveys’ operation is truly a family business, with their daughter Meagan also part of their team.
The family’s connections to the Gold Coast span five generations and they have very strong personal ties to the Labrador area.
Ms Davey’s great-grandparents were dairy farmers in Paradise Point in the 1930s, and later purchased land in Labrador which is where they raised their family.
“Mum’s parents built their house on Turpin Rd, Labrador and we only just sold the house this year after my Nan passed away,” she said.
“So we have some very deep connections to Labrador, and it’s great to be opening our new business here. We have a lot of family history on the Gold Coast, which is quite rare.”
The Daveys say that one of the key factors to their success so far has been the focus they put on communication and doing business with integrity. They strive to under-promise and over-deliver, and believe it’s why they have so many returning customers.
“Integrity is so important to us,” Mr Davey said. “We take the time to explain things to our customers so we build a lasting relationship that’s built on trust.
“It’s easy to communicate openly with your customers when you’re passionate about what you’re doing. We know what we’re doing and we absolutely love it,” he said.
Labrador itself is a central family-focused area of the coast that overlooks the Gold Coast Broadwater to the east and Southport on the southern border. It’s close to the beach, with a very established residential community. It’s also close to the new Gold Coast University Hospital, light rail and had a huge amount of infrastructure development take place leading up to the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast earlier this year.
Ray White Queensland CEO Tony Warland welcomed the Daveys to the network.
“Darren and Sandy have such a supportive network already in the Gold Coast community and we can’t wait to see them conquer the Labrador area,” Mr Warland said.
“We’re delighted to have another family business joining ours and look forward to supporting them as they continue to grow.”
