The Real Estate Institute of the ACT recognised more than 30 professionals and agencies at its 32nd annual Awards for Excellence, held on 22 August at the National Convention Centre Canberra.
The Gala Dinner brought together 400 professionals from across the ACT’s residential, commercial, property management, sales and strata sectors.
REIACT President Chris Wilson told the Gala Dinner the awards were about more than celebrating individual and agency success.
“Professionalism, ethics and consumer trust matter. We should be proud of the work we do, but we also have a responsibility to continually demonstrate the value that good real estate professionals bring to their clients and to the wider community.”
REIACT CEO Maria Edwards, speaking to open the evening, pointed to the pressures the industry has absorbed over the past year.
“We’ve dealt with a slower market, increasing compliance obligations, rising business costs and clients who, understandably, are feeling the pressure of the cost of living. There are plenty of things our industry cannot control, but somehow we often end up standing at the front line dealing with them,” she said.
“But what continues to impress me is the way this industry adapts, keeps turning up and continues to do the work,” she added.
