Realestate.com.au has launched a suite of five AI-powered and immersive features under the banner NextGen Now, alongside early research into how Australians are using AI to search for property.
The launch follows the rollout of realestate.com.au’s member-exclusive AI Assistant experience to 100% of users across iOS, Android and web last week.
NextGen Now brings together five features already released on the platform.
- AI Assistant lets members ask questions about property, check affordability, evaluate and compare listings, and take action within a single chat.
- Campaign Assist combines consumer intent data with PropTrack automated valuation model data to give agents recommendations for boosting a listing’s performance and building vendor-ready talking points.
- AI Search allows buyers to search using their own words alongside traditional filters.
- iGUIDE® interactive property tours provide immersive 3D tours and floorplans.
- Property Walkthrough Reels are short, vertical video tours built for mobile viewing.
According to REA Group, the products are designed to help agents create listings that match how buyers now search and to support faster sales.
Alongside the launch, realestate.com.au shared early findings from research into how Australians use its conversational AI search tools.
The research found 59% of AI search sessions start wide, with users searching by lifestyle goals or commute before narrowing to specific suburbs.
Nearly a third of AI searches – 32% – included a commute and travel radius, with 18% specifying an exact travel time.
40% of AI searches asked about architectural style, aesthetic, or a property’s condition and renovation potential.
The research also found 72% of users adjust their search at least once when talking to AI, and that property seekers using AI during their search are more likely to save, enquire about, share or inspect a listing.
The full results are outlined in realestate.com.au’s AI Trends in Property Search report.
Jonathan Swift, REA Group’s Chief Product Officer, said the early research showed people using the platform’s AI search experience were more forthcoming about their property goals.
“Our early research into how consumers are using AI to search for property on our platform highlights that people engaging with this intelligent search experience are more proactive in sharing detail about their property objectives,” Jonathan said.
“Insights gained from this detail enable us to better meet consumer needs and ultimately help us connect our customers with high-quality leads.”
Jonathan said the broader product suite was built with agents’ listings in mind.
“The suite of NextGen Now products and features are designed to make it easier for agents to create immersive, AI-ready listings that speak the same language buyers are using in their search, helping them find the right property faster.”
