RE/MAX agent continues stellar run in Bungarribee

The popularity of the tightly held Western Sydney estate of Bungarribee has surged so far in 2021, with RE/MAX agent Billy Markovski selling four properties by the end of January, one of which was a suburb record.

Mr Markovski has been listing and selling properties in Bungarribee, a suburb of Blacktown, for the past eight years – since the estate was developed – and is currently the number one selling agent in Bungarribee for the fourth year in a row.

“49 Bubuk Street was a record sale price at $1,370,000,” the RE/MAX Xtra agent said. “It was one of the larger blocks in the estate.”

He said he also sold a vacant 426sq m corner block for $740,000.

“This works out at $1737 per square metre, which is what you’d expect of a unit development site rather than a house block, and is higher than the per square metre price we are seeing for Blacktown,” he said.

His two other sales were for homes on 330sq m blocks, which sold for $830,000 and $810,000.

Mr Markovski still holds the house sale record for Blacktown, at $1.4million.

He attributed his ongoing success in the region to three main factors – his longevity of selling in the estate, the deep relationships he has built within the community and the prices he has achieved.

“I’ve been in here since the very beginning. There are around 890 homes now and only two vacant blocks remaining. The estate is family orientated and around 90 per cent are owner occupied.”

He said there had not been a lot of supply coming to the market recently but prices were still climbing and he had not seen this sort of demand for several years.

“Buyers are calling constantly and begging to know about properties that might be coming on to the market,” he said. “I haven’t experienced this since probably 2017.”

He said Bungarribee, which backs on to the new Sydney Zoo, a major waterpark and the M4 and M7 motorways, was in a desirable location.

Doonside train station is a 10-minute walk from the estate, which was developed on the former site of the historic Bungarribee House, and Bungarribee Park is one of the largest recreational spaces in Western Sydney.
