Pretty profit: Julia Roberts sells her San Francisco home

Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts has recently sold her San Francisco home for $11.3 million, a significant gain from the $8.3 million she paid for it in early 2020.

The sale of the property, located in the Presidio Heights neighbourhood, marks a successful real estate transaction for Roberts, with the house fetching $3 million more than her original purchase price.

Roberts’ Victorian-style house, built in 1912, was purchased just before the Covid-19 pandemic struck, according to the Robb Report.

Despite the market challenges, the property, which had struggled to find a buyer for almost a year, found its new owner in Roberts.

After an 18-day listing period, the house was sold to an unidentified buyer, using a Silicon Valley-based LLC for the transaction.

Spanning over five levels, this 585sq m residence boasts five bedrooms and five bathrooms.

The elegant entry is accentuated by a grand staircase, leading into a spacious living room complete with a fireplace.

The interior combines contemporary design with the house’s original charm.

Noteworthy features include coffered ceilings in the dining room, a sunroom within one of the bedrooms, and a kitchen offering panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

This kitchen is not only aesthetically pleasing but also well-equipped with high-end Sub-Zero appliances and a wet bar.

The second floor houses four of the bedrooms, while the top floor is devoted to the expansive primary suite.

The property also includes two lower levels – one featuring a media room and attached two-car garage, and another offering a large bonus room.

Both levels provide direct access to the garden, which, although compact, features olive trees, sitting areas, and a covered hot tub.

The Pretty Woman star maintains a portfolio of diverse properties, including a penthouse in New York City, a ranch in New Mexico, and an estate in Hawaii.

However, her main residence remains a mansion in Malibu’s Point Dume.
