Ouwens Casserly host their Take Off event

Ouwens Casserly Real Estate recently held their fifth annual Take Off Conference, with a lineup of industry-renowned speakers headlining the event.

The OC Take Off Conference is designed to offer the organisation’s agents, staff members and leaders the insight and inspiration to excel into the new calendar year and this year the conference was held at Coopers Brewery for the first time.

Like previous years, OC drew on the talents of the country’s real estate leaders with many travelling interstate especially for the event.

OC Managing Directors, Alex Ouwens and Nathan Casserly have spoken at Australia’s largest real estate conference, AREC, twice, where they have learned how important it is to learn from other industry professionals.

“Providing our agents with the best real estate speakers in the country is something we are truly passionate about,” Mr Ouwens explained.

He noted Ouwens Casserly is one of the nation’s fastest growing real estate companies with six offices, employing over 100 staff in eight years.

In addition, the brand has notched up $3 billion in property sales and has just recently been recognised with a series of awards.

“Our industry is constantly growing and evolving, so staying current and ahead of the curve is what we really pride ourselves and our agents on,” Mr Ouwens said.

Mr Casserly noted at its core the Take Off Conference is client focused.

“Having our agents motivated and excited about what a new year in the real estate world brings means our team is so much better equipped to achieve the best results possible for our valued clients,” he reflected.

Both managing directors are no strangers to stepping out of their comfort zones in order to demonstrate these values to the OC team.

A feature of the Take Off Conference is the pair recording themselves participating in an activity that illustrates how they lead from the front.

This year they chose to abseil at Encounter Bay, while past years have included skydiving, the Adelaide Oval rooftop climb, swimming with sharks in Port Lincoln and completing The Bend Motorsport Park Superbike Experience program.

The speaker line-up for this year’s event included five highly-regarded professionals; Alex Mintorn of McGrath Real Estate, Lynette Malcolm from Chadwick Real Estate, Paralympian Katrina Webb, Matthew Hayson of Cobden & Hayson as well as Daniel Healy from Leading Teams.

“A key element of the Take Off Conference is diversity in our speakers,” Mr Casserly said.

“Having such a broad range of skillsets and focuses within the topics covered is hugely important for us in order to provide our team a rounded insight into all aspects of the real estate industry, from technical sales strategies to motivation and positive mindset and how to have all this in a cohesive, collaborative environment.”

“The event is something we all look forward to,” Mr Ouwens added. “It was the perfect way to jump start the year and take off into 2020!”
