Competition between five registered bidders has seen a Mount Colah property sell under the hammer for $1.97 million, delivering a standout result for the tightly held suburb.
McGrath Hornsby agent Nick Berman managed the successful campaign at 3 Telopea Street, where an energetic auction attracted significant local interest. The property changed hands after determined bidding pushed the final figure above recent comparable sales in the area.
Nick said the result was the outcome of a carefully considered marketing strategy.
“We focused on thorough preparation, strong online and social media exposure, and consistent direct communication with the Mount Colah community,” Nick said.
“That engagement ensured we built both buyer competition and strong local awareness throughout the campaign.”
According to recent data from Domain and SQM Research, the median sale price for houses in Mount Colah across June to August 2025 was about $1.715 million, with properties typically selling in 34 days. Against that backdrop, the Telopea Street property achieved a price well within the suburbโs upper bracket and demonstrated sustained buyer demand.
Nick said both vendors and buyers responded positively to the transparent auction process.
“The sellers were very pleased with the auction outcome, and we are now working closely with those who missed out to help them find alternatives in the area,” he said.
This approach reflects Nick’s focus on maintaining relationships with all participants in his campaigns, not only the successful party.
