Melissa McCarthy buys Little Italy penthouse

Bridesmaids star Melissa McCarthy has purchased a Manhattan penthouse that was last listed for US$7.35 million.

According to mansionglobal.com, the actress and her husband quietly acquired the property with the exact price and terms undisclosed.

The 220sq m condo is located at the Grand Mulberry, a 20-unit new development designed by architect Morris Adjmi.

The three-bedroom penthouse has a large wraparound terrace and an open-plan kitchen with white matte lacquer cabinetry and brushed brass fixtures.

The apartment also has keyed elevator entry, high ceilings and white oak flooring as well as radiant heated floors in the bathrooms.

The brick building, completed last year, was designed to evoke the historic Italianate tenements found throughout the neighbourhood, according to Mr Adjmi’s website.

The building has a doorman, a bike storage area, and a landscaped roof terrace.
