LJ Hooker opens new office in North West Tasmania

LJ Hooker has expanded its network in North West Tasmania with the opening of LJ Hooker Devonport.

Experienced local real estate specialists Michael Ziegler and Melissa Burtt will head up the new office, which offers a full suite of real estate services across residential properties, including sales and property management.

With 16 years’ combined experience in the real estate industry, Principal Mr Ziegler and Director Mrs Burtt decided LJ Hooker best suited their team’s customer-focused business aspirations.

“We joined LJ Hooker because of its strong, family-orientated brand and innovative systems,” Mr Ziegler said.

“We are in the business of building relationships and empowering the members of our community to achieve their real estate ambitions, and we do this by adopting cutting-edge technology and implementing efficient processes, so that our customers can enjoy a seamless journey.”

The new office comes as the region enjoys steady growth: according to CoreLogic, Devonport’s property values have increased by about 7 per cent per year for the last two years. REA data shows the number of properties on the market has decreased by 59 per cent, in turn, driving buyer competition.

New social infrastructure developments, as part of Devonport’s “Living City” urban renewal project, including the Paranaple Art Centre and Providore Place, have improved the area’s appeal.

“We’ve experienced an influx of buyers from the mainland states seeking quality, affordable properties and the classic Tassie lifestyle, which is pushing up demand,” Mr Ziegler said.

“That, paired with the low number of properties currently on the market, means we are seeing a strong seller’s market right now.”

Mr Ziegler said homes between $250,000 and $350,000 are proving to be popular, with interest from first home buyers and mainland investors.

“And, interestingly, we are receiving multiple offers on many properties, which goes to show that demand remains high when property is priced correctly in the market,” he said.

Welcoming Mr Ziegler, Mrs Burtt and their team to the LJ Hooker family, Head of Network Development Ben Mitchell said he was thrilled that the national brand would be represented in the growing Devonport area.

“The team’s experience and commitment to the customer embodies what the LJ Hooker network is all about,” Mr Mitchell said.

“Undoubtedly, LJ Hooker Devonport will play an important role in its local community.”
