LJ Hooker honours top performers at International Awards

LJ Hooker has recognised its top performers across Australia and New Zealand at its annual conference and International Awards gala, held earlier this week on the Gold Coast.

LJ Hooker Network Chief Graeme Hyde said the awards night is the most important event of the year, especially in a challenging market.

“Despite the market challenges faced by the real estate industry, many of our offices have pushed through and achieved outstanding results. The purpose of our annual awards night is to give our people the recognition and value they deserve – the sheer volume of awards this year demonstrates their ongoing commitment and dedication.”

The Sir Leslie Hooker Award – the most prestigious award of the night that is named in honour of the company founder – was conferred to LJ Hooker Palm Beach’s David Edwards.

The award recognises contributions of a business owner to the community, the real estate network, and the mentoring of staff.

“David is no stranger to the awards stage, as he has won multiple accolades during his 26 years at LJ Hooker. As a principal and mentor, he has developed a passionate and highly qualified sales team devoted to achieving results for their customers,” Mr Hyde added.

“David’s unwavering commitment to his staff, customers and local community is a shining example of leadership, and this award is greatly deserved.”

Speaking on the award, Mr Edwards said: “Given the previous real estate legends who have been presented this award, I am particularly humbled to receive the Sir Leslie Hooker Award this year”.

“I have been privileged to support and mentor a great team at LJ Hooker Palm Beach and play a part in supporting such a reputable real estate brand.”

LJ Hooker Forest’s John Davis was inducted into the LJ Hooker Hall of Fame after more than 20 years with the brand. The Hall of Fame recognises the outstanding achievements of an individual for eight consecutive years or more.

A major winner on the night was LJ Hooker Sunnybank Hills, which took home the World Champion Office award for another year.

“The Sunnybank Hills office is consistently a top performer across the group’s Australia and New Zealand network. To win the coveted LJ Hooker World Champion Office title is a stunning achievement, but to win it again illustrates the team’s passion and unrelenting drive,” Mr Hyde said.

In other major awards, Bill Malouf from LJ Hooker Double Bay took home the World Champion Top Residential Salesperson; Melissa Jerzyna from LJ Hooker Penrith was named World Champion Property Investment Manager; and LJ Hooker St Peters was crowned World Champion Property Investment Management Office.

The awards night took place during a three-day conference entitled Pinnacle 2019, which was held on the Gold Coast for its two brands, LJ Hooker and Harveys.
