Knight Frank unifies Queensland valuation team under Matthew Ryan

Knight Frank has restructured its South East Queensland Valuation & Advisory business, bringing commercial and residential valuation services together under a single team.

The expanded team is led by Matthew Ryan, Partner and Head of Valuation & Advisory, Queensland, who has nearly 20 years’ experience in the industry in the state.

He has been with Knight Frank since 2006 and is a director of Knight Frank Townsville, Knight Frank Mackay and Knight Frank Residential and Commercial Valuations South East Queensland.

The team includes Arabella Briggs, James Steed, Brenna Smyth and Basil Simitci.

Under the new structure, the team will provide valuation and advisory expertise across commercial, industrial, retail, residential and specialised property sectors, including accommodation and hospitality assets.

Knight Frank said the group has a long-standing track record in commercial valuations in Townsville and Mackay, and in residential valuations across South East Queensland.

The move brings commercial valuations in the South East Queensland region in-house for the first time, a service that had previously been provided by another licensee.

Matthew said combining commercial and residential expertise under one leadership structure would give clients broader market insights.

“This expansion marks an exciting new chapter for our valuations business in South East Queensland,” he said.

“We have built a strong residential valuations platform across the region and are now expanding our capability to include commercial valuation and advisory services under the one team.

“What differentiates us is our combination of local knowledge and ownership with the backing of Knight Frank’s national and global network, allowing us to provide connected insights across markets and asset classes.”

Knight Frank Managing Director Queensland Justin Bond said the strengthened Valuations & Advisory team reflected the firm’s long-term commitment to supporting clients across one of Australia’s fastest-growing regions.

“The combination of residential and commercial expertise in our highly experienced Valuations and Advisory team provides valuable market intelligence across the full property spectrum and ensures we can continue delivering the high-quality, consistent advice our clients expect from Knight Frank,” he said.

“With significant infrastructure investment, continued population growth and the lead-up to the 2032 Olympic Games, Queensland is exceptionally well placed for long-term growth, and our expanded valuations team is ready to support clients as they capitalise on these opportunities.”
