Knight Frank has appointed Hamish Stuart to the dual role of Partner, Managing Director, New South Wales and National Head of Office Leasing.
The move comes alongside the appointment of John Brasier as Partner, Head of Office Leasing NSW, and the promotion of Jenine Cranston to a Partner role within the NSW Office Leasing team.
Hamish will officially start at Knight Frank on September 1. He brings almost 25 years of experience in commercial real estate across Australia and the United Arab Emirates, spanning office leasing and asset management.
He joins from Dexus, where he was most recently Head of Office Leasing, having previously held the role of Head of Leasing for Office and Industrial at AMP Capital.
John will commence on August 3, working closely with Hamish out of Knight Frank’s Sydney office. He has more than 13 years of experience in commercial property and office leasing specifically, moving from Dexus, where he spent nearly five years as General Manager, NSW Leasing – Office.
Jenine, who has been with Knight Frank for more than four years, brings over 30 years of leasing experience to her new Partner role, including senior client-facing leadership positions at CBRE and Colliers.
Knight Frank chief executive officer James Patterson said the appointments would strengthen the firm’s leadership in New South Wales and across its national office leasing platform.
“These appointments will position us strongly for the next phase of growth both in New South Wales and nationally, as well as bolstering our leasing capability nationally ahead of further opportunity in the market,” James said.
James said Hamish had broad experience across agency, client and developer environments, along with strong insight into market dynamics and leasing strategy, while John brought enormous expertise to the firm from his background in Sydney’s office leasing market.
On Jenine, James said she combined extensive leasing leadership experience with practical expertise in advising clients on the impact of ESG on occupier demand and deal structures.
Hamish described the move as an exciting time for the business.
“The opportunity to help lead and grow the NSW business, while further strengthening its leasing capability across Australia, was incredibly compelling,” he said.
John said he was looking forward to leading the firm’s NSW office leasing team, and pointed to a shifting market backdrop.
“With new development supply drying up, I am looking forward to delivering superior outcomes for our clients as the market sentiment continues to turn back to their favour.”
