Kelly Qualtrough has joined Ray White ICON as a partner alongside principal Sherrie Storor.

Kelly has specialised in Everton Park, Arana Hills and Ferny Hills for almost 21 years, and will work from the group’s Chermside office.

She said the move came after watching Sherrie build businesses and lift agents’ performance through her coaching.

“Sherrie has been so successful in the coaching space. She has turned a lot of businesses around and helped sales agents get their teams right across many different business models,” Kelly said.

“I help owners get out of their own way, and Sherrie does the same for agents. As a non-selling principal, she has so much to bring to the table. She is a superstar, she’s brilliant in front of the camera, she knows her clients and she’s going to be a great leader.

“She made me a great offer and I wanted to be part of it. You have to get on the dance floor, because that’s where the magic is about to happen.”

Kelly has been a four-year participant of a six-month mastermind program run by Sherrie, which brought in guest speakers including Cathy Freeman, Terri Irwin and Lorna Jane Clarkson.

“It’s powerful when women support women. Sherrie brings so much energy to business,” she said.

Sherrie said she was looking forward to working with Kelly to further strengthen her personal brand in the market and help systemise her team.

“With more than 20 years in the industry, Kelly is so creative, she has so much care and empathy and will always help her clients find solutions,” she said.

Known for her solutions-focused approach, Kelly recently helped a Ferny Hills family who had refused to sell for fear of being left without a home.

She added a clause giving them 21 days to buy their next property or walk away from the sale. They sold for $1.175 million and bought in the same suburb within the window.

“You need to make it happen. There is almost always a solution, but people need someone in their corner who will find it,” she said.

“Right now I’m hearing more sad stories than good ones. People come back wishing they had taken their first best offer. That’s where a trusted adviser makes the difference.

“There is limited stock available to buy, so sellers who want to move need to meet the market. You have to know what you can control, and that starts with securing your buyer.”

Kelly said sellers were motivated by a range of circumstances.

“People are moving for all sorts of reasons. Downsizers, homes that are too big or too small, relocation, and a lot of separations, many of them amicable and some that date back to COVID.

“In every market, someone is winning. After every boom there’s a correction, then another boom, and right now there are great buying opportunities.”
