Auctioneer Hamish Mill of Williams Real Estate has taken out the top title for the second year running at the coveted Domain Golden Gavel Live Awards in South Australia.
Held on May 29 and hosted by the Society of Auctioneers & Appraisers, the annual event is now in its 28th year and recognises the best of the best for their skills as elite auctioneers and appraisers of South Australia.
This year’s event was staged slightly differently in a bid to accommodate social distancing requirements but met the challenge by implementing strict health guidelines and utilising technology.
Senior real estate, general, and livestock auctioneers submitted a Live Facebook feed from a smartphone in order to determine South Australia’s Best Live Auctioneers.
Organisers noted the standard of auctioneering was outstanding throughout all categories, but rising to the top for the second year to win the inaugural award of Domain Golden Gavel Live 2020 Champion was Hamish Mill. .
The Society has a proud history, with many highly dedicated members who seek to continuously raise the profile and standards of the profession of both Auctioneers and Appraisers.
The Domain Golden Gavel Live concept removes distance as a barrier and allows auctioneers to compete from all over South Australia for the ultimate accolade – Domain Golden Gavel Champion for Real Estate, General and Livestock.
The Domain Golden Gavel is the longest running auctioneering competition in the Southern Hemisphere and has been the spring board that has fast-tracked the careers of many South Australian auctioneers and appraisers.
