Josh Duhamel lists his Encino home for A$4.19 million as he shifts focus to his Minnesota retreat.

Actor Josh Duhamel has put his Encino home on the market for US$2.99 million (A$4.19 million), signalling a shift away from Los Angeles and toward the off-grid Minnesota cabin he has spent nearly two decades building up.

The Ransom Canyon star bought the ranch-style property in 2017 for US$2.65 million (A$3.71 million).

The single-storey home spans 3,310 square feet across four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, with what the listing describes as “panoramic jetliner and mountain views that create a spectacular backdrop from nearly every angle.”

Outdoor amenities include a pool, spa, fire pit, built-in barbecue area and a private sauna, set on just over a third of an acre.

Inside, an open floor plan and glass walls connect the living areas to the backyard, while the primary suite features a soaking tub, marble shower and two walk-in closets with light-up shelving.

Originally built in 1962 and renovated in 2023, the home is listed with Thomas Atamian of Coldwell Banker Realty as having a “visionary architectural aesthetic inspired by Philippe Starck,” according to MarketWatch.

Josh had previously offered the property as a rental for US$15,000 a month (A$21,000).

The sale comes as Josh, 53, spends increasing time at his roughly 50-acre Minnesota cabin — a self-described “doomsday prepper” retreat he has owned for nearly 20 years, expanded from an initial 12-acre parcel that had no plumbing for its first 12 years.

The property now includes three wells, food plots, and a newly built family dwelling.

He recently told Dana Carvey and David Spade’s Fly on the Wall podcast that the cabin has a calming effect he simply doesn’t get in Los Angeles.

“What I think I love the most about it is I just get out there and my heart rate drops about 25%,” he said.

Josh and wife Audra Mari, who recently welcomed daughter Rocca, consider their primary base to be Fargo, North Dakota, which is just across the border from the cabin.

He also shares 12-year-old son Axl with ex-wife Fergie.
