Former FTX boss Sam Bankman-Fried lists his $40 million penthouse

Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of the now-collapsed crypto exchange FTX, has listed the luxury Bahamas penthouse where he lived and worked.

The penthouse has an asking price of $US39.95 million and was labelled the “ultimate in luxury waterfront living”, according to the official listing.

The 1100sq m, five-bedroom residence is located in the luxury Albany resort and comes with a pool, a family room that doubles as an entertainment area, a separate bar area, and an outdoor barbecue.

The residence boasts an oversized master bedroom suite with his and her bathrooms and walk-in closets, plus a private balcony with a lounge area and spa.

There are also another four ensuite bedrooms, a grand living room with dining area that opens onto a stunning outdoor pool and patio area, and a modern kitchen with a separate bar area.

The penthouse was designed with Venetian plaster walls and matching Italian marble accents, German-engineered doors and windows, custom cabinetry, LED lighting system and an audio/visual package with Creston smart home system.

The penthouse overlooks an exclusive private marina on the southern side of the island and has its own private elevator and private garage.

According to ZeroHedge, Bankman-Fried established FTX in 2019, before the exchange went on to be one of the largest in the world, while the 30-year-old’s net wealth swelled to an estimated $US16 billion.

FTX filed for bankruptcy last Friday and Bankman-Fried resigned as CEO.
