Brisbane real estate agency sells $3.06 million worth of property in a day

The market in Brisbane appears to have already warmed up this year, as Explore property last weekend achieve a personal record of 180 people in their open homes resulting in $3.06 million of sales in one day.

Explore Property Ashgrove principal Kelly Qualtrough who runs her business with her partner Sean Wallis told Elite Agent that it was the first time her two-year-old agency had closed in that many sales which occurred on January 21.

“Certainly I was surprised at the volume of buyers we saw that actively wanted to purchase and were frustrated by the lack of properties on the market and the amount of competition they were up against.”

Qualtrough said the record-breaking sales feat were all thanks to property buyers placing confidence in Brisbane’s real estate market coupled with the city’s lower lending interest rates.

“Comparatively to other cities, Brisbane is still a great value.

“The hills district of Brisbane has been popular with families that are wanting a leafy outlook, close to Brisbane with quality local schools.”

She said her agency sold two houses in Arana Hills, another two in Ferny Hills, one in Ashgrove and one more in Upper Kedron on that day.

Qualtrough added that these properties sold like hotcakes as it was close to Brisbane’s CBD, schools, shops and were walking distance to public transport.

However, Qualtrough said due to legislation she was unable to reveal the amount each property went for but said five of the buyers of these properties were local owner occupiers from Brisbane, while one was an interstate investor.
