Benson Spong named head of performance for Ray White Queensland

Benson Spong will focus on helping Ray White Queensland expand and innovate in his new role

Ray White Queensland proudly announces the appointment of Benson Spong as the new head of performance. 

With 13 years of extensive experience in the real estate industry, Benson joins the Ray White Queensland corporate team with a proven track record of success and innovation.

Prior to his new role, Benson distinguished himself as a dynamic leader, having managed a large sales team at Ray White One Group on Brisbane’s northside. 

With over a decade of experience as a skilled auctioneer, Benson’s expertise has been pivotal in driving the success of the auction business, which has seen remarkable growth under his leadership, expanding from 100 to 350 auctions annually.

Benson’s journey at Ray White began 2.5 years ago when he joined as director of sales and auctioneering. 

His dedication and strategic vision quickly earned him recognition, leading to Benson spearheading key recruitment initiatives and implementing performance-driven strategies, significantly enhancing the sales business within the Ray White One Group.

“In my time we grew to 98 in the sales team, from 48, and added six new locations to 11 offices and the group tripled its auction numbers and is now on track for 350 auctions this financial year,” Mr Spong said.

The former commercial pilot and flight instructor, has called more than 4000 auctions in his career to date. 

The majority of his career was spent on the Gold Coast as a salesperson, sales manager and auctioneer.

As the newly appointed head of performance, Benson aims to foster sustainable and effective growth across Ray White Queensland. 

In 2024, his focus lies on establishing a robust performance structure aimed at grassroots engagement while ensuring the company’s explosive growth trajectory continues. 

“I am excited to have hands-on involvement with the implementation of strategies and development of skill sets that make measurable change to our daily efficiency and performance,” he said.

“The ability to work alongside the real estate industry’s most successful group of leaders and salespeople while continuing to strengthen our position as Queensland’s best in market is what I am most keen for.”
