Belle Property Canberra celebrates their big win at the REIA Awards for Excellence

Belle Property has been nationally recognised with two awards at the Real Estate Institute of Australia Awards for Excellence.

Belle Property Canberra, which has offices in Kingston and Queanbeyan, took out the Large Residential Agency of the Year.

Principal Dan McAlpine was grateful for the support his team received, which helped them grow the business.

“We started with four people five years ago and have expanded to more than 30 staff in two locations across Canberra.

“With the backing of the Belle Property brand and its reputation for providing premium services and properties has allowed our team of sales agents and property managers to thrive under a team first attitude,” Mr McAlpine said.

He went on to share a little insight about how they achieved their success.

“When we started we insisted on an open database and across our entire team we share all information which gives us the capacity to service our clients in the best way. It gives us more intelligence to negotiate with buyers for better outcomes.”

The agency had prepared for a sharp decline amid the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, they saw the complete opposite.

“We have seen a dramatic increase in prices and the market has grown at 18-19 per cent in the nine-month window post COVID lockdowns.

“The Canberra market is now the third most expensive capital city in Australia behind Sydney and Melbourne and it is a great place to invest.”

He added there are predictions the median house price will rise to $1 million by the end of 2021.

Mr McAlpine suggested the lifestyle in Canberra was the reason for the rise.

“We keep asking ourselves where would you rather live in a COVID environment and where would  you rather do business. The answer is Canberra.”

Principal of Belle Property Byron Bay and Lennox Head Braden Walters was also recognised as the Property Marketer of the Year at the REIA Awards.

Belle Property CEO Peter Hanscomb said the recognition showed the commitment of the two offices.

“We are incredibly proud to see Belle Property Canberra and Belle Property Byron Bay & Lennox Head recognised at the highest level in the industry,” he said.

“It goes to show the level of commitment they have to growing and building their teams as well as the expertise in their craft that have enabled them to achieve these results.”
