Urban Real Estate has collected more than 1,000 non-perishable food items for OzHarvest, after every office across New South Wales became a collection point throughout July.
Team members, clients and local communities contributed pantry staples including breakfast cereals, long-life milk and canned goods as part of the OzHarvest Winter Food Drive, run in partnership with the charity.
The donations will now be distributed by OzHarvest to charities supporting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
Urban Real Estate Chief Executive Officer Katrina Tarrant said the response reflected the people behind the business.
“One of the privileges of being in real estate is that we’re part of our communities every single day,” Katrina said.
“We don’t just work here, we live here too. Collecting more than 1,000 food items is something our entire team, our clients and our local communities should be proud of.
“It shows what can happen when people come together with a simple goal of helping others. That’s the kind of impact we want Urban to have, not just in property, but in the communities we’re fortunate to be part of.”
Urban Real Estate also acknowledged the work of OzHarvest and its volunteers, who rescue surplus food and deliver it to charities supporting people in need.
The more than 1,000 items collected will now help stock the shelves of community organisations across New South Wales.
