Mark Josem has launched his own agency, Storyhouse Real Estate, based in Hawthorn East, after more than a decade building a reputation as one of Melbourne’s Inner East specialists.
The agency, which launched in January, is built around a story-led campaign model – including video and social – designed to extend a listing’s reach beyond the major property portals.
Mark has been ranked the number one agent in Hawthorn East by realestate.com.au for both sales volume and median sale price.
Mark spent more than a decade building his reputation in the Inner East, where his team was ranked the number one sales team across 45 offices for two consecutive years, according to the agency.
He left to start Storyhouse because he believed there was a better way to sell a home, and wanted to build it himself.
“We believe homes seen by more, sell for more,” Mark said.
“Our campaigns are designed to reach buyers before, between and during active search. Portal activity is the baseline.
“And social covers everything in between. It’s part of a selling system we’ve designed to control the controllables. More eyes. More heart. More competition.”
Mark also conducts his own English–Mandarin auctions across the Inner East, where he says Mandarin-speaking buyers represent a significant share of active demand, removing translation delays during bidding.
“The buyer who buys your home tomorrow is usually a version of the buyer you were when you bought it,” Mark said.
He said Storyhouse builds campaigns to find that buyer, doing so in what he describes as a real and engaging way, driven by the belief that attention is the new economy and authenticity is what earns it.
Storyhouse’s focus is premium family homes across Hawthorn, Hawthorn East, Camberwell, Kew, Canterbury, Glen Iris, Malvern, Malvern East, Armadale and Toorak.
Before entering real estate, Josem led a national sales team of more than 65 people within a business generating more than $250 million in annual revenue.
