Savills Australia and New Zealand has appointed Ben Veale as National Head of Asset Management and Ryan Dare as State Director, Asset Management – NSW, expanding the firm’s specialist capability as demand grows for more sophisticated approaches to asset performance.
The appointments follow a period of rapid growth for the division. Savills reports it has secured mandates to manage more than 120 additional properties nationally, which it says delivered approximately 30 per cent growth across the office, industrial, retail and healthcare sectors in 2026.
They say the platform now supports a client base that includes Mapletree, Starhill, Makris Group and Forest Endeavour.
Ben brings experience overseeing complex property portfolios and advising institutional and private clients on performance improvement and value creation.
In his new role, he will lead Savills’ Asset Management division across Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on technology-enabled solutions for building optimisation, customer experience and asset value.
“Asset management is becoming increasingly sophisticated, with owners seeking deeper insights, stronger operational outcomes and flexible strategies that respond to changing market expectations,” Ben said.
“The future of asset management will be shaped by how we draw on our global connectivity and effectively combine specialist talent with intelligent technology.
“By integrating market-leading platforms, data and AI-enabled tools, teams can make better decisions and deliver stronger outcomes for clients.”
Ryan brings experience across commercial asset management, property operations and client advisory. He will lead Savills’ NSW Asset Management division, working with clients to enhance operational performance and support long-term value creation across their portfolios.
Paul Roberts, CEO of Savills Australia and New Zealand, said the appointments represented a significant investment in one of the firm’s fastest-growing service offerings.
“Asset management is increasingly at the centre of real estate value creation,” Paul said.
“Today’s owners are looking beyond traditional property management and seeking strategic partners who can unlock performance through technology, data, sustainability and operational excellence.
“Ben and Ryan are highly respected industry leaders with proven track records advising sophisticated investors and managing complex portfolios.
“Their appointments significantly strengthen our national capability and position us to respond to growing client demand across all major asset classes.”
The appointments form part of Savills’ broader growth strategy, with Paul saying the firm sees “a significant opportunity” for clients to create value through a more integrated, performance-focused approach to asset management as they navigate changing market conditions and increasing reporting requirements.
