If youโve ever wanted to own an island in the Whitsundays, now is your chance, with Victor Island officially on the market.
Victor Island will go to auction with RWC Gold Coast agents Michael Willems and Matt Taylor, holding the listing in conjunction with Ray White Rural Sarina agent Richard Murphy, on behalf of the mortgagee exercising power of sale.
โItโs not often that you get to your chance to buy your own private island,โ Mr Willems said.ย
โVictor Island is a private island in the Whitsundays and is one of a few privately owned perpetual leasehold islands.
โThis means the property is owned by the state and leased to the registered lessee subject to certain conditions.โ
Mr Willems said the island was eco-friendly and predominantly self-sufficient, powered by the sun and harvested rainwater, filtered for drinkability.
โItโs its own sanctuary, with no neighbouring islands or other properties in close proximity it really is the perfect paradise hideaway,โ he said.
Mr Willems said he had strong interest in the unique property and had been marketing the island predominantly online and across the Ray White network.
Located just 2km from the mainland off Salonika Beach, at the southern end of the Whitsundays, the 3.14ha island is surrounded by crystal clear waters with a 360-degree panoramic coastline.ย
The island features a renovated four-bedroom home, a separate caretakerโs cottage, a helipad, rainwater storage, a desalination plant and a solar farm.
He said it would suit a range of different buyers given how well-established it is.
โThe island has a very livable home and you donโt really have to spend any money on it to enjoy it,โ he said.
โItโs easily accessible from Mackay, so itโs not overly remote.
โIt would be terrific for a family or extended family or even a couple of friends that might want to buy it and enjoy it.โ
According to Mr Willems, the island is difficult to put a price on but said it will sell for an โextremely affordable priceโ.
โThe island is ready for its new owners to move right in, or itโs ready for business and could be used as a holiday rental or exclusive year-round retreat,โ he said.
The property will be auctioned on 11 April, at 11am, at the Gold Coast Turf Club, Racecourse Drive, Bundall.
