RE/MAX announces key WA appointment

Simon Withers was a standout candidate for the strategic corporate appointment.

The Announcement:

Simon Withers is tasked with growth of RE/MAX in Western Australia, a decision Managing Director Joel Davoren says sets an exciting direction for the State.

He described Mr Withers as a standout candidate for the strategic corporate appointment.

“Simon has almost two decades of real estate experience in WA and is a widely known agent in residential real estate in both property management and sales, and as a trainer and a successful business owner in the industry. He also has commercial property experience.

“He is a strong supporter and active member to the Real Estate Institute of WA and sits on the REIWA property management national advisory committee.”

Mr Davoren said the new appointment had given a seamless transition for the WA network following Donna Goddard’s decision to take a co-Director position at RE/MAX GBT Realty in Nollamara.

Mr Withers began his real estate career in Albany in 2004, in sales, before moving to Perth and into property management. He joined Rockend Technology (MRI) in January 2010, where he was the WA trainer for REST Professional along with client services. He has also held a position as a senior portfolio manager with Norfolk Commercial.  In 2012, he established his consulting business, REALpm which eventually led him to oversee the operations at Salt Property Group, where he has been for the last ten years.

Mr Withers admitted that leaving Salt Property Group was bittersweet.

“After a decade, making a decision to leave was very hard because I’d reached the top there but knew I needed to reach higher.

“RE/MAX is a global brand and a world leader, whose values align with my own.

“The people at Gough Recruitment Australia knew me well – how fussy I was – so they approached me with the RE/MAX opportunity. I researched RE/MAX and especially the Australian network and its directors extensively.

“It can be hard to find good leaders in this industry but all the feedback on the Davorens and Chris Chapman was faultless and extremely positive. Then, with 100 per cent backing from family and friends, I reached out and was ecstatic to be accepted into the Business Growth Manger role.”

Simon Withers is based in Perth, making up the four Business Growth Managers located currently in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia. RE/MAX Australia’s corporate headquarters is in Brisbane.
