O*NO Legal welcomes new senior lawyer

Jonathan has been a lawyer for 13 years, having headed up his own medium-sized firm as well as working for a large national firm as a commercial and property lawyer.

Like the rest of the team at O*NO Legal, Mr Green has extensive knowledge and a deep understanding of the real estate industry.

From 2018 to 2021, he took a break from full-time law work, instead spending his time as both a partner and director of a busy Victorian real estate agency.

“Jonathan is still a Licensed Estate Agent and understands the unique day-to-day and legal challenges, pressures and opportunities his clients must contend with,” O*NO Legal Founder Kristen Porter said.

“He has lived and breathed it, and has stood in their shoes.”

After selling his real estate business in late 2021, Mr Green moved back into full-time legal practice, blending his love of the real estate and legal industries.

He joined O*NO Legal as its senior lawyer last month.

“Jonathan has wide experience in commercial law, including asset sales and purchases such as rent roll transactions, business and personal succession planning, and property-related matters such as commercial leasing, residential and commercial property developments and conveyancing matters,” Ms Porter said.

“During his time running his own agency, Jonathan looked after all aspects of the business, but with a special focus on managing the commercial property portfolio of the agency.”

Ms Porter said Mr Green was a huge believer in lawyers narrowing their fields of focus from generalist to specialists in order to give the best possible value and service to their clients – with real estate is no exception.

“The changing legal and regulatory landscape, fast pace of life, communication intensive and time-sensitive nature of our clients’ work means legal advisors need to be able to adapt, learn quickly and communicate well and plainly with their clients. Jonathan strives to achieve this with each of his clients,” she said.

Mr Green holds a Bachelor of Laws from La Trobe University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He is a current Victorian Licensed Estate Agent.

He enjoys using his skills to help his local community, and currently sits on two public boards, one in Victoria and one in NSW.

He loves to travel with his wife and family, spending time with his kids, watching the footy and cricket, going scuba diving, walking his sausage dogs and hitting the gym.

“We are so excited to have Jonathan on board and our clients will certainly benefit from his industry specific legal advice,” Ms Porter said.
