One executiveโs search for a rental property highlighted a gap in customer service, along with the creation of a new outsourced rental inspection service called Propzee.
For James Bentley, a newly relocated executive from the UK, the rental inspection experience was frustrating, particularly in Melbourneโs hot rental market. James found inspections clashed, were at inconvenient times, on the weekend interfering with family time, mid-week requiring time off from work and to make matters worse the online descriptions lacked floor plans and even suitable photographs.
With a background in IT, he went about creating a solution. The end product, Propzee, is not dissimilar to AirTasker or Fiver, the idea being that consumers can outsource a job that they donโt have time to do and are happy to pay for.
โOur service is perfect for the prospective tenant who is unable to view a property due to family, work, social or location conflicts. Within 8 hours of the inspection we email out the report including photos of each room and a floorplan leaving the decision up to youโ said James.
The App gets to work once a consumer has added the address of the property they wish to view, and makes payment. James says that with within 8 hours the consumers receives a detailed report including photographs and a rating system allowing them to decide their next move.
The service is particularly useful for internationals looking to relocate or students coming to Australia for education purposes. At the moment, the service costs $179 and since launching Propzee initially covers Melbourne CBD and Port Phillip city council areas.
