Laing+Simmons Scholarship Winner Lands Full-time Role

Prospect local Julia Sallows has been unveiled as the winner of this year’s Laing+Simmons Scholarship Program, the annual initiative designed to unearth talented agents of the future and kickstart their career in real estate.

Julia’s win sees her join leading local real estate office Laing+Simmons Blacktown, where she’ll work alongside experienced sales specialist Mark Stone.

Julia completed a week’s work experience with the Laing+Simmons Quakers Hill office as part of the scholarship program and made an instant impression.

Her drive and enthusiasm were obvious and she’s now completed her Certificate of Registration, care of Laing+Simmons, with Mark’s guidance ensuring she’ll hit the ground running in her new Sales Assistant role.

Julia was introduced to the Laing+Simmons Scholarship Program by her school careers advisor.

“Real estate is an industry I’d been interested in for many years so when I found out about the scholarship program it made sense to apply. The experience with the Quakers Hill team was very valuable and it was exciting to see first-hand how a busy real estate office operates,” Julia said.

“My focus is to learn as much as I can in order to carve out a long career in real estate sales, and I’m so grateful to get a full-time start in the industry with Laing+Simmons Blacktown.”

For the past two decades, the Laing+Simmons Scholarship Program has identified and supported young people interested in real estate, improving levels of professionalism in the industry.

“Scholarship participants complete a work experience period with one of our offices and are mentored by an experienced real estate operator, ensuring the right techniques, skills and standards of practice are learned at the outset of their careers,” Laing+Simmons Managing Director Leanne Pilkington said.

Ms Pilkington said the scholarship program is an effective training initiative and a unique opportunity for students interested in a real estate career.

“Real estate is a dynamic and competitive industry and there’s an ever-present need to improve professional standards among agents. The Laing+Simmons Scholarship Program is designed to do precisely this, and we congratulate Julia on her deserving win,” Ms Pilkington said.
