The Announcement:

Knight Frank has made a significant appointment to its Prestige Residential team in Sydney as the market goes from strength to strength.

Duncan Schieb has joined the real estate agency in the role of senior sales executive.

He has more than 25 years of experience in real estate in Australia and overseas, with an extensive career starting in country New South Wales as a Stock and Station Agent, leading to the UK, Hong Kong, the USA – specifically New York – and back to Sydney.

Mr Schieb has moved to Knight Frank from his previous role at Prestige Property Sales Advisor at Christie’s International Real Estate in Sydney. Prior to that he was in New York, where he successfully marketed and sold high-end luxury property.

Mr Schieb brings a background in sales, marketing, advisory and as an auctioneer to Knight Frank, as well as more than a decade of experience running his own company producing luxury brand videos.

He has also been a consultant for non-profits, raising more than $200 million for charities around the world over the course of his career, as well as assisting high-net-worth individuals to donate or set up philanthropic programs.

Knight Frank Partner and Head of Residential Australia Shayne Harris said Duncan’s appointment would enable Knight Frank to grow its Prestige Residential team at a time when the Sydney market in particular was performing very strongly.

“The appointment will strategically enable us to further expand our footprint on Sydney’s ultra-prime market and enhances our ability to service owners of high-value lifestyle assets across Australia,” Mr Schieb said.

“Duncan’s extensive experience and knowledge will enable us to act as a trusted advisor to our clients, providing unparalleled service exceeding their expectations.”

Mr Schieb said he was excited about taking on a fresh challenge in his new role at Knight Frank.

“I look forward to servicing our valued clients, including using my skills to provide innovative marketing and sales strategies to deliver the best possible results,” he said.

“It’s an exciting time for the market, particularly the luxury residential market in Sydney, which is enjoying great demand from both domestic and overseas buyers, including those returning to Australia to live.

“We expect strong demand to continue throughout this year and into next year.” Knight Frank’s recently released Prime Global Forecast 2021 found Sydney was the world’s leading city, with luxury prices expected to rise by 10 per cent over the year.

Sydney is expected to continue its reign in the top spot in 2022, when, together with London, both cities are forecast to see prime prices accelerate 7 per cent year-on-year.
