Jayden Nichols is headed back to where it all began as he takes the reins of the well-established LJ Hooker Muswellbrook office.
Having started his career in property management with the LJ Hooker office, the Muswellbrook local has gone on to forge a solid career in sales.
Mr Nichols had always planned to one day open his own agency in the rural township where he was born and raised, and when the principals of LJ Hooker Muswellbrook, Phil Lawler and Kevin Timpson, decided to retire, it presented an opportunity to take his career to the next level.ย ย ย
โBusiness ownership was always forefront of my mind and this exciting prospect came along at the right time,โ Mr Nichols said.
โIโve already had so much support from LJ Hooker Corporate so Iโm excited to make this transition to principal.
โThe people in the network have been amazing,โ he said.
โTaking on the business will allow me to fully control property transactions and management, ensuring a seamless process for my clients.โ
LJ Hooker General Manager of Network, Stephen Mutton, said Mr Nichols would bring new vitality to the rural township, which is located three hours from Sydney and an hour from Newcastle.
The agency first opened its doors in 1984.
โMuswellbrook is a town with deep community ties and it is wonderful to attract a local and dynamic agent who knows this market and comes with innovative ideas for future growth,โ Mr Mutton said.
โIt further cements and continues to ensure that the LJ Hooker brand will be maintained in the township with the addition of fresh ideas and energy.โ
The Upper Hunter region remains a popular location for local homeowners, looking for affordability, and out-of-town investors.
The median price for a three-bedroom home in Muswellbrook is $410,000; while four-bedroom homes typically fetch around $510,000.
Several infrastructure projects are planned for the township, including a $45 million Stage 3 redevelopment of the Muswellbrook Hospital.ย
The local council has also embarked on a revitalisation of the Muswellbrook town centre.ย
Mr Nichols, who will be joined in the business by his partner Phoebe, wants to build strong relationships within the community and will invest in local sponsorship.
The couple also plan on hosting home-buying workshops for those keen to relocate or purchase in the Upper Hunter region.
The mining industry has attracted a significant influx of clientele to the town, driving the townโs investment property market.
โWe have experienced great year-on-year growth, thanks to a robust economy centred around the mining sector and a consistently competitive rental market,โ Mr Nichols said.
โWith a consistent yield of approximately 5-6 per cent and a positive gearing outlook, Muswellbrook presents an enticing opportunity for investors seeking profitable ventures.โ
