Real estate portal Homely has been named in the Top 10 Favourite Real Estate Marketplaces by international website Online Marketplace.
The top 10 real estate portals were chosen by ranking more than 650 property websites from around the world on competitive qualifying features and functions, such as map view, filters and more.
Homely was the only Australian real estate portal on the list. It appears as though Online Marketplace chose one portal from a certain region, as there were seemingly no double-ups on the list.
Online Marketplace took six key features into account when ranking the portals. These were:
- Map View
- Draw Your Own Search
- Keyword search
- Pet Friendly Filter
- Virtual Tour Filter
- Scroll Photos from Results Page
Homely boasted five out the six key features. It does not have a keyword search function.
Homely’s co-chief executive officer Adam Spender said the real estate marketplace is looking to expand with more features in the future.
“The needs of buyers and renters are constantly changing, especially in today’s dynamic property market,” Mr Spencer said.
“We are always looking to build new tools that will help fill these needs, from ’collections’ and ‘draw on map’, right through to ‘suburb reviews’ and ‘local Q&A’.
“For us, it’s all about speaking to our customers, finding out what they need and creating a search experience that is truly unique.”
In the article, journalist Edmund Keith described Homely as an “Aussie challenger”.
“The interface shows it’s users how many listings there are in the chosen area for each filter before the user has to click, load a new version of the pages on their browser and find out,” Mr Keith wrote.
“It also shows a median price graphic for the area at the top of the results page and allows the user to toggle the search in surrounding suburbs.
“If that wasn’t enough, Homely also lets users choose specific dates for property inspections and add the appointment to their calendar app.”
Homely was ranked among international real estate marketplaces such as Realtor.com (USA), Top Realty (Slovakia), Cian (Russia) and SeLoger (France).
The Latin American real estate marketplace parent company Navent had all 10 of its portals under its larger umbrella taken into consideration.
Germany’s ImmoScout24, UAE’s Propert Finder, Imobiliare in Romania and FazWaz in Thailand were also ranked in the top 10.
