REA Group has announced that it has appointed Henry Ruiz as its new Interim CEO for REA Group Asia effective immediately.
Ruiz, who is currently REA Group’s chief digital officer, will oversee the group’s Asia business including iProperty Group across Southeast Asia and its Chinese property site Myfun.com, the company told ASX on Friday.
Ruiz will continue to report to REA Group CEO Tracey Fellows and will retain his position on the Board of PropTiger, the group’s collective entity in India.
“Our purpose is to change the way the world experiences property, and we have an exciting opportunity in this region to do just that. We’ll do it through creating great products, for the benefit of consumers and driving value for customers. Henry is very well placed to step into this role,” Fellows said.
The change also brings opportunity in Australia for Val Brown, as she moves into a newly-created position of Executive Manager, Consumer Experience with the group.
Val will be responsible for leading REA Group’s Australian consumer and product teams and will become a member of the executive team.
Brown has been with REA Group since 2009 and has held some senior product and technology roles, most recently as Executive Manager, Personalised Experiences and Mobile Apps.
