The Harcourts Local Cup has raised $20,000 for two Queensland charities, split evenly between the Mental Awareness Foundation and The Lady Musgrave Trust.
Now in its second year supporting both organisations, the golf day attracted 132 players and 148 attendees.
Business owner Jacqui Bartholomeusz said the event was about more than the total raised on the day.
“We actually raised $20,000 at our Golf Day this year, which is an incredible result,” Jacqui said.
“We’re really proud to be supporting the Mental Awareness Foundation and The Lady Musgrave Trust for the second year. They are both doing incredibly important work in our community, and it’s wonderful to be able to use our Golf Day to help support the difference they make.”
The $10,000 donation to the Mental Awareness Foundation will go towards its 2026 Walk for Awareness on 18 October.
Now in its 16th year, the Walk brings together thousands of people to honour the nine lives lost to suicide every day and walk together for better mental health in Australia.
The other $10,000 will support The Lady Musgrave Trust’s housing initiatives for young mothers and their children.
As part of a $30 million Queensland Government housing package, the Trust will deliver 13 of 20 new homes being built across the state, including purpose-built, self-contained homes in Ipswich offering safe accommodation alongside wraparound support to help young mothers maintain secure tenancies, pursue education and training, and build stability for their families.
The Trust has also recently settled on a Gold Coast property that will provide additional safe housing for young mothers and their children.
The impact of the Golf Day has extended beyond the funds raised on the day itself.
After attending the 2025 event and learning more about The Lady Musgrave Trust’s work, one golfer committed a further $100,000 donation to the organisation, to be paid over two years.
