Harcourts International announces new COO

Harcourts International has announced the appointment of a new Chief Operating Officer, with Andrew Friebe stepping into the role.

Announcing the appointment, Harcourts International CEO Steve Caradoc-Davies said it gave him great pleasure to welcome Mr Friebe back to the corporate leadership team at Harcourts.

“His in-depth knowledge and understanding of real estate, both within a real estate business and in the corporate environment, will be invaluable in his new role as COO for Harcourts International,”Mr Caradoc-Davies said.

“As someone who shares our values and culture, I am confident that Andrew will easily integrate with the team and make a significant impact.”

As a member of the global executive leadership team overseeing over 900 franchise offices in nine countries, Mr Friebe will lead the strategy for operational execution, helping to position Harcourts as the real estate franchisor of choice and underscore the company’s vision to provide the finest experience in real estate to its team members, business partners and clients.

Mr Friebe brings a wealth of experience to the role, with over 15 years of real estate experience, including nine years as a residential sales consultant. 

From 2015-2018, Mr Friebe served as the State CEO for Harcourts in South Australia and before that was a member of the corporate team for two years.

Most recently, Mr Friebe held a senior leadership role as a regional Managing Director for South Australia/Western Australia for LJ Hooker.

LJ Hooker Network Chief, Graeme Hyde said: “During his time with LJ Hooker, Andrew assisted us in growing our network, and our offices within it, to take more market share with a sharp focus on industry consolidation, the recruitment of high performing agents and rent roll acquisitions”.

Mr Friebe, who replaces former COO Rob Forde, who recently joined Harcourts Coastal on the Gold Coast, commences the role in January 2021 and will be based at the corporate offices in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
