Grammy-winner Alex Paul buys Mischa Barton’s former estate

Musician Alex Pall, best known as one-half of the Grammy-winning DJ duo The Chainsmokers, has purchased an Italian-inspired villa in Beverly Hills for $8.8 million.

The property, high above Beverly Hills, was on the market for just over two months at a price tag of nearly $10 million.

The three-building compound, known as the Bowmont estate, last sold in 2021 for under $9.2 million.

British-born actress Mischa Barton, famous for her role as Marissa Cooper on Fox’s The O.C., was a former owner. She bought the place for $6.4 million in 2005 and sold it for just over $7 million in 2016.

Completed in 2003, the estate is located in the Beverly Hills Post Office area and encompasses a 1.2-acre parcel.

It features a main house and two guesthouses, adding up to six bedrooms and nine baths across over 929sq m of living space.

Amenities include a game room, wine cellar, gym, and movie theatre.

Visitors to the main house are greeted by a double-height foyer with a wrought-iron staircase, leading to formal living and dining rooms, an office, and a gourmet kitchen.

A master retreat includes a fireplace, balcony, and luxurious bath facilities.

The grounds are adorned with lush greenery and a lap pool, plus a three-car garage and motorcourt with a car turntable.

In addition to his new acquisition, Pall owns several properties throughout Los Angeles, including a remodeled 1930s bungalow in the Hollywood Hills.

As for Barton, she is set to guest star in an Amazon Freevee reboot of the Australian drama Neighbours, maintaining a connection to her previous fame and continuing her acting career.
