Gold Coast real estate identity is top seed

RE/MAX broker owner, Danny Woolbank, has been a force with the squash racquet since eight years of age. After a decade of repeatedly winning Queensland titles for his age, he entered the Australian Institute of Sport when he was 18.

Since Mr Woolbank joined the ranks of Masters, which is for over 35 players, he has won three Australian titles in the past seven years.

Now heading into the eighth year, he is seeded number one, a favourite to win, on the back of having won the Queensland titles in May this year.

Mr Woolbank competes in the 40 to 44 age group.

“It’s very exciting to have the event on the Gold Coast this year,” he said, “with the individual knockout matches and the teams’ titles on courts at Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium, Nerang Squash and Fitness, and Gold Coast Squash.”

Mr Woolbank opened RE/MAX Property Centre at Broadbeach Waters in May. He has lived on the Gold Coast since 1985 and is well-known to many through his family business, the Southport Squash Centre, and his professional squash career.

A love of real estate fuelled a career change but now, with more than 14 years of real estate industry experience behind him and multiple sales awards, he is excited and confident about moving into ownership.

The Australian Masters Squash Championships begin on September 2.
